On our downtime, we love having a little fun. Most of us work all day long and when we get home, having something relaxing to do is really welcomed. If you want a change from video games and television, consider an air hockey table. This addictive, fast-paced game brings out the competitive side in just about everyone who plays it. You also don?t need to be the next Wayne Gretzky to master it. In fact, no ice skating is required at all.

This games table is the perfect addition to any household. Kids can play it and have friends over. It will keep them occupied for hours. They can set up tournaments that run everyday after school or even all weekend long. You can get an air hockey table designed in different colors so it matches the already existent d?cor you?ve got in your home. If you have a classy house filled with lots of expensive art, a big baby blue and red air hockey table is going to stand out. However, if you have one with a nice wood finish and black trim it?ll look perfect in your home but still has the function of being a fun game.

Adults love this game as well. If you?re a bachelor, this would be perfect for you when your buddies come over for either a chill, relaxing evening or preparing for a big night out. An air hockey table is smaller than a billiards table which saves more room but they are just as energetic, if not more. Don?t be surprised if your guests are lining up to play once they see how much fun it really is.

The nicer the table, the more expensive it will be. The price can range anywhere from $300 to $4000. It depends mainly on what kind of style you want it and how many extras you want. Some have 3 in 1 games which will of course cost more money. If you?ve got kids in the home, the tables with several games included are a good buy as they?ll keep the children?s interest for years.

Setting them up isn?t complicated at all. You?ll definitely need a helper though to help steady the pieces as you put them together. Be sure you place the table on a level spot in the home.

You will never again get bored if you have one of these in your house. Everyone can play and it helps to pass the time on a rainy day and through the chilly months of winter. An air hockey table is suitable for any household. Just make sure you always have someone to challenge you and your skills at this game.

Some towns are steeped in history, offering a window into how our forebears lived their lives. One such place is Cooperstown NY, the county seat of Otsego County. It has several well known tourist attractions and cultural centers. The town was founded by and named in honor of Judge William Cooper, whose son was the author James Fenimore Cooper of The Last of the Mohicans fame.

This town is mostly associated with the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Some followers of the game trace its origins back to the Cooperstown NY area, so it is fitting that this collection of baseball memorabilia and artifacts should be housed here. Exhibits include art and movies with a baseball theme and the Hall of Fame contains star players such as Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio.

Traditional rural ways of life are remembered at the Farmer's Museum, which overlooks Otsego Lake. There are replicas of 19th century buildings, including those used by a weaver, printer and blacksmith. The original barn, creamery and herdsman cottage are on display and a hand made carousel. The museum is on the site of the original farm, once home to James Fenimore Cooper. This valuable resource in Cooperstown NY is also the location for the Fenimore Art Museum, containing permanent exhibits and traveling displays. Art works include 19th century painting, American Folk Art, Native American art and crafts and American photography.

Local history of a different kind is found at the Brewery Ommegang in the Susqehanna Valley, close to the town. The successful business brews Belgian type ales, some of which have won awards. The company presents a beer tasting festival every summer, known as Belgium Comes to Cooperstown. In addition to sampling the products, visitors enjoy live music and a bonfire.

The town is proud of the Alice Busch Opera Theater on Otsego Lake, eight miles from Cooperstown NY. It is home to the Glimmerglass Opera Company, renowned for its world premiers and support of new works and rare operas. The company hosts an annual summer season of productions and it is the second largest summer opera festival in the United States.

Family fun is guaranteed at the Barnyard Swing 18-hole miniature golf center. In addition to the farm themed golf course, there is a games room with air hockey and pool table and a children's play area. Refreshments are available at the caf? and ice cream parlor and there are picnic spots and a farmer's market.

Olympic Games in Canada

International sports enthusiasts can visit the history of the Olympic Games in Canada, and get a glimpse of the future.

Canada hosted its first Olympic Games in Montreal, Quebec in 1976.

The Olympic Stadium in Montreal features the world's tallest inclined tower-it is 574 feet (175 m) high. The vision of the architect who planned the stadium was nearly impossible to achieve, however. The stadium's retractable roof was not completed until 1987, more than 10 years after the event for which it was designed.

The velodrome built for the 1976 Games was re-purposed for education in 1992 and is now known as the Biodôme. Visitors to the museum will experience four typical indigenous American environments: the polar region, a tropical forest, the St. Lawrence marine, and the Laurentian forest.

In 1988, Calgary, Alberta hosted the 15th Winter Olympiad and profited mightily from it (unlike Montreal, which is still paying for that stadium roof!). The Olympic Oval is a fully equipped training facility used by skaters, runners, hockey players, and athletes of all stripes. Nearby Canada Olympic Park is the home of North America's largest Olympic museum, the Olympic Hall of Fame. The Park is also home to Canada's only Olympic bobsled/luge track. Adventurous visitors willing to sign a waiver can even buy a trip down the track in a sled driven by one of the park's trained drivers.

Canada will again be hosting the Winter Olympics, this time in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2010. The city has already begun preparations for the big event. Omega, Official Timekeeper of the 2010 Games, unveiled a three-year countdown clock in downtown Vancouver on February 12, 2007. Construction of the Vancouver Olympic Village will begin in the summer of 2007. The Games facilities will be made available to athletes for training by Winter 2007/2008.
